Notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting of the Belconnen United Football Club is to be held:

• On Wednesday 24 February 2010, commencing at 7:30pm
• At the Belconnen Soccer Club, Cnr Springvale Drive & Belconnen Way, Hawker (Charles Hawker Room).

The special general meeting is convened for the purpose of considering and voting on a constitutional change.  The change reflects the need for effective operation of the club’s executive positions.

Current Constitution

Clause 17(b)(x) includes:

(b) The Officers of the Club shall consist of:

...

(x) The Director of Legal Issues – who shall be responsible for all legal issues arising from or related to the activities of the club;

Clause 17(f) includes:

(f) Each officer of the Executive Committee shall hold office in accordance with the following, but is eligible for re-election:

The Director of Legal Issues
The Director of Legal Issues shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting in each odd numbered year to hold office for two years until the election of the Director of Legal Issues at the Annual General Meeting in an odd numbered year.

Motion for the proposed constitutional change

1. That reference to the Director Legal Issues in Clause 17(b)(x) be deleted and substituted with:

(x) The Deputy Chairman – who shall be responsible for providing general assistance to all other officers of the club as required;

2. That reference to the Director Legal Issues in Clause 17(f) be deleted and substituted with:

The Deputy Chairman
The Deputy Chairman shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting in each odd numbered year to hold office for two years until the election of the Deputy Chairman at the Annual General Meeting in an odd numbered year.
