In the Blue Devils first friendly for 2010, they had to settle for sharing the points with the visiting Sydney Super League club Sydney University.

For an opening hitout for the PL team, the players looked in good shape and played some attractive football during a dominant first period. Fluent movement through midfield to up front saw some of the younger additions to the group combine well with the some of the more eperienced players.

Sydney Uni came into the game midway through the first half but it was Belconnen that opened the scoring. Winning the ball back near half way a series of 1 and 2 touch passing led to Danny Macor playing a neat 1-2 in the area and finishing expertly in the bottom  right hand corner.

The lead lasted til midway through the second half when Sydney Uni capitilised on a poor midfiled pass, where their Irish import slotted nicely over the outcoming Devils keeper.

Uni hit the post with a penalty soon after and Dean Tomeski also missed a good opportunity for Belconnen, but that's as close as they came with both teams defending well late on.

Score finished 1-1.

In the earlier game, the PPL overcame a sluggish start and after being 0-2 down came back to 2-3 at half time. Milos Bebic and Lukas Bednark scoring. However the lively Uni team scored late on to make it 2-4.

Both PL and PPL travel to Sydney next weekend to take on NSW Premier League 2009 winners Sutherland.
