Mens Premier League - Mens Premier - PL & PPL

Belconnen United had led the table for twenty-four hours after defeating the injury-struck Goulburn Strikers 3-1 at McKellar Park on Saturday evening. Gatorade Premier League leading scorer Danny Macor scored twice in the first eight minutes to give Belconnen a dream start and seemingly put them well on the way to three points and yet the Strikers, missing captain Andrew Aliffi who suffered what appeared to be a career ending knee injury in training and forced to see top scorer Brody Willis stretchered off with a serious quad injury, fought back with a goal from Josh Phelps. Dustin Wells’ ninth goal of the year confirmed the points, ending any hopes of a comeback, five minutes from time.
