Belconnen United were held to a 1-1 draw by visitors Canberra City in the latest round of the Gatorade Premier League at McKellar Park. The Blue Devils dominated most of the match and were guilty of wastefulness in front of goal throughout the match even after Dustin Wells capped a terrific team move to lift his ninth goal of the season over James Ward in the City goal to give them the first half lead.

Canberra City though is nothing if not resilient and proved once again what a menace they can be from set-pieces by drawing level four minutes from full-time. Misko Naumoski floated over a wonderful corner that as met forcefully by the head of David Dexter who struck his fifth goal of the season to earn City a share of the spoils.
